Some cool software I enjoy using
-
Neomutt. A terminal-based email client that I use every day.
-
iSync. Perhaps better known by the name of the main executable of this suite
mbsync
, this program can synchronise IMAP email servers to local disk in the maildir (or mbox) format. This allows one to read emails offline locally with any email client of choice. This tool can also be used to backup (and then restore) your emails, even if you have no plans on reading your email locally.
-
Imapfilter. A IMAP mailbox filtering/sorting/managing tool. Using a configuration file written in Lua, one can apply almost arbitrarily complex moving/filtering rules to one’s INBOX using the full power of a general purpose programming language.
